My parents are coming down for the month of Feb. Don't ask me why but they want to bring food with them. They are thinking about a cooler with frozen meat in it. They had no problem with this in St Kitts but I was not so sure about Belize. I did a search on the internet and could not come up with anything.

Another customs question...
I am coming to Belize from the US for a vacation on 12-25. I'm bringing a suitcase filled with new school supplies & clothes for King's Children's Home as a donation. Does anyone think customs will give me trouble for bringing these things in? I don't want them to think I'm planning on trying to sell the stuff & take it from me. Thx!!

Don't bring meat, vegtables, fruit, nuts on any international flight. The only question the Belize customs officer ever ask me on numerous trips is "have you brought any food." You can get meat in SP!

crembrulee, you should contact King's children's home and have them fill out a document. I dont know what it is called, but they can fill it out and file it with customs....that way you wont have a problem....see numerous posts on this board about folks bringing donations who had to pay duties.......

I'm probably only talking out me butt..but I have never had a problem when I did NOT DECLARE certain items (at customs). If you have liquor, they will want to know, as well as smokies, and please declare these items, BUT if all you have are extra school supplies/ toys, etc.. Don't ask for Questions/ Problems...just go thru!!

Crembrulee, If you do not declare and get caught with any of the fore mentioned items you will have a big problem and will have to pay duty. Get the proper paper work filled out and sent to customs and declare the school supplies and you will have "no problem". Customs agents have heard all the bs lines so don't insult them and remember the customs agents do decide how much duty you will pay.
