Elvie's has wonderful fish and chips (if they're not too busy) also Stained Glass Pub. I've never had them in England so I don't know if they're similar....

Stained Glass Pub is good but the best ever are at Hamilton's which is North of the cut. They are closed on Tuesday. Hamilton's tends to be higher in price but the servings are BIG and the fish is so fresh it swims in.

spl, North England and Scotland in particular where beef fat is still commonly used instead of veg. oil and Haddock is the fish of choice. My preference is for Halibut and Chips though.

SPL..Maybe I should have said Fish Sticks and Fries. I actually like a piece of fried fish inside a tortilla with salsa....I could go without the chips. I just saw fish and chips on a few menus and thought I would ask. So anyone have any thoughts on Fish Tacos??
