I would suggest gas. If you're going north, it's a necessity, or at least it was a month ago. There was a lot of road work going on when we were there, so maybe it's better (or worse) now.

1) Can you get from town going North to Captain Morgans, back to town, down to Victoria House and back to town on one charge?
2) The gas buggy we rented seemed loud. Are all the gas carts loud like that?
3) I dont really care about speed but I was getting passed a lot on the Southern straight-aways. Is that normal for a rental gas cart?

The answer to #1 is NO! In fact you just can make a round trip to Victoria House on a charge.
I do not like the gas carts - they are very noisey.
So who needs to go fast - or far? Relax - I like to enjoy the quiet. Also - gas is very expensive.
I was just forced into having to accept a gas powered rental one for this month and it stalled out on me after going through the mud pupples (little lakes) in front of Reef Village.

Harriette, if a return trip to Victoria House is the full range of your electric cart I suggest you get it checked out, pupples or not!

no golf carts are noisey! A little more sound out of gas than electric but please! It is impossible to keep pure silence in such a big place.

Razorfish,
I have to agree that the gas powered golf carts are the way to go. When you rent, it should be full, or make sure it is, and if you need gas while having it its no problem to fill up in town. Just don't want to get stuck somewhere up north, with a spent tank!!
