My husband and best friends went to San Pedro Belize last year and fell in love with the place. It is just beautiful. We would really like to take our kids with us this year and another couple wants to go with their kids. Total people would be 13 - 6 adults and 7 kids. The kids are 16, 13, 10, 8. Can anyone please give me some suggestions for accomodations for this many people that would not cost us an arm and a leg. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

kimjacks -- with that crew, you could negotiate a great rate at Belizean Shores -- we've done something very similar. It should be a good launching point for our very ecclectic group that wants equal parts pool/peace and party times.

There will be no shortage of different opinions though -- you'll have to weigh the great feedback from folks here with your group's needs and tastes.

I will have a Belikin -- put it on klcman's tab.

Your name makes me hungry, kimjacks. Makes me think of FryJacks which I have not had since November. YUM! Make sure your kids try fruit fry jacks, they'll love those.

kimjacks...

I have been to Belize 10 time before this next visit in 30 days and counting...

We took our children (at that time 13 and 14 ) once..it is out getaway...

We stayed at our condo at Coral Bay Villas but since we also own a place at Belizean shores up north, spent some time there as well.

The kids loved the pool at Belizean Shores but were equally excited about being on the beach anywhere.

My suggestion...kids and pools go together but kids and new experiences do too...

My fondest memory...my kids on bikes watching a toddler get his bath in a 3 lb pickle pail...

gotta love it

PS ride bicycles

Kimjacks,

Just my two cents...have you tried fishing? We have always taken our son with us from an early age and he absolutely loved the days out fishing. It's a great place to take kids and they are only young once so enjoy them! Have a great time. Rhonda smile

It's a personal thing, but I prefer being closer to town. I'd look at Banyan Bay or Xanadu. It makes things much simpler if people want to go eat at differrent places or such. Plus, I love being able to go into Ruby's in the morning for fresh cinnamon rolls.
