The last thing I heard about Merlene is that she and "her gang" were going to stay in Placencia and weather out the storm at "cousin" Juan Caducio's house. His house is new and fairly well built but I too am very concerned. I wish they hadn't taken the chance......You shouldn't fool with Mother Nature>

thanks Cecil!! I've been monitoring this since yesterday morning with no word at all. I pray they are all right as well as everybody else. I guess you've not heard anything of Douggie? and little Nancy and Malu? Or Kaye and Harry? We rent the little block house behind Merlene's cafe. I heard the block houses were still there. Do you know? Also, any word from the cayes? We have been building on Morris Caye with Douggie,but I doubt anybody has been able to assess the damage off shore yet. Any other word would be greatly appreciated. We also heard that there didn't seem to be any casualties in Placencia. We feel so helpless and our hearts go out to the people of Belize. Thanks again.

Our understanding from Blue Moon Lodge is that Dougie Young is fine.
