Hi, we were supposed to start our honeymoon next Monday, staying at the Green Parrot, but now we don't know where to stay. We're still flying into Belize City and would love to stay at someplace similiar, beachfront, cabin type place...Any advice would be appreciated.

My husband and I just returned from 16 days in Belize on Sunday. It was the greatest trip we have been on. While on Ambergris Caye, we stayed at Capricorn Resort, and it was fabulous. There are only 3 cabanas, and I believe they said they had room available the next few weeks. It has the best restaurant on the island and the hosts, Anabel and Clarence, are wonderful. The staff couldn't do enough for us, and we felt so welcomed and relaxed. The cabanas are right on the beach with Queen size beds. There is a hammock on every cabana's porch with a view of the sea. The Island Ferry stops regularly at their dock to bring you to town, or to other restaurants (though you won't want to eat anywhere else!!!). There email address is capricorn @btl.net and there website is very detailed.

Good luck and Congratulations!!!

Look at Jaguar Reef Lodge, they are north of Placencia by Dangriga on a lovely stretch of beach, similar set-up with beachfront cabanas. Wonderful spot for a honeymoon. No damage from Hurricane. www.jagaurreef.com - see their fall special packages.800-289-5756

Did you ever hear back from the Green Parrot? I was also scheduled to be there Nov 2 for a week. I have not heard from the owners but expect that they will not be open.
Good Luck.
