Belizean men are not bashful. Many women, while not specifically coming to Belize to have sex, seem to enjoy the attention that they get so the aggressive behavior is re-inforced. When girls come here NOT looking for sex, they often become "rude ass bitch" for not reciprocating.

Be careful, be clear-headed, stay with each other... But at the same time, not all men are the same. There are plenty of really cool, genuine people here to chill with (of all races). If you are looking to hook up, you won't have a problem.

Oh, come over to Caye Caulker too. Our island is small enough that basically all the locals know each other and you can always ask somebody if a particular guy is okay to chill with.

You WILL be hit on all the time, everywhere you go, but the above statement applies for plenty of men here. As far as Casa's story that happened to me twice in the states so as he mentions you never know when danger is going to happen.

There is a great social scene on the island as with most Caribbean travel destinations.

Some visitors get a little (a lot) carried away with alcohol/partying and end up in bad situation.

As with anyplace in the world (Manhattan, LA, Miami, Aruba, etc..), use common sense and have a great time! The young adults on the island are great people and love to have a good time. We love to meet new folks and are not shy about introductions (some flatter themselves and think they are constantly being hit on). Don't be surprised if folks of all ages say "good morning", "good night", "hello", while passing by on AC.
