My family and I are vacationing here 1st of April and am wondering if there are any opinions on private rentals. I am looking at a place called Casa Coral which is said to be a short walk north of town. We have 6 people so it has been difficult to find something large enough for a reasonable cost yet nice and close to town. I am not yet reserved and if anyone can shed a bit of light as to its location, beach front, if it is nice, etc.. I would greatly appreciate it.
Or if there is another recomendation that would be nice also.

Thank you.

If you mean Casa Caracol, some friends of ours stayed there a few months ago. It was nice, right on the beach a little north of town, but close enough to walk everywhere. They mentioned a few dogs barking, but that is wide spread in town on San Pedro. The friends had use of a pool and their daughter played on the beach every day.

finigan,
Try this website: www.casacaracol.com
This should give you a good start at seeing what's out there in the private sector.
You can look at several private homes that might work for your group at: www.cayemanagement.com

I think they do mean Casa Coral which is similar in name, also has three bedrooms and is just down the beach from us too. It is run by Caye Management. Thanks for thinking of us though.

I would recommend you book Casa Coral, and fast. It is well priced and one of only a handful of three bedroom beachfront homes within easy walking distance of town. It's in a quiet area, yet only a ten minute walk to town to the shops bars and restauarants. You get the whole of the third floor and the massive roof terrace. Two of the bedrooms are fairly small with single beds and this is the only potential slight drawback. Also Caye Managemnt are on the ground floor if you need them while there.

If you look under long term rentals in this web , you will find other houses for rent around $1000.00 US per week..

Not always the case. We booked thru Caye Management for 10 days this summer and had a choice of many places so stay, some private homes, but we chose Casa De Caribe. I found them under long term rentals in the lodging section of this web site.

Caye Management is listed in several different sections. We used them in January for our short term two week vacation and will use them again for next year when we hope to be able to stay for a month.

lacysisland, I don't see Casa de Caribe on their webpage. Where is it?
