Sorry about this question if it seems odd, wondering if runners or sandals are okay on these two trips. I see my other half packing merrell hiking boots for the lamani ruins tour we want to go on and I think they are overkill.
I was just going to wear my aqua runners - basically running shoes that can be used on dry land or in the water.

Both are good walks but hardly qualify as hikes. I wore backless leather sandals on both and did fine. The aqua runners should work well.

My wife and I both wore Tevas without any problems. If I were to go again I think I would wear Crocs.

Usually - although if you're gonna need boots, this board can sometimes be the place for 'em wink

I've done both trips - wore my regular walking shoes with socks to the ruins and "fake tevas" on the cave tubing jaunt. I didn't do so well with the tevas - I was slipping and didn't have my footing as well as I needed to - but then, at that time, I was 100lbs over weight (which is not the case today). Just another perspective.

Have fun - those were two of my favorite experiences! laugh

I didn't do the cave trips but my trusty old sandals did the job for Lamanai, Tikal, Xunantunich and other Mayan sites.

100 lbs! Wow, amazing loss Gela. Congratulations 100 times.

Crocs are the way to go....I wholeheartedly agree.
I wear mine every day and when I go to meetings people ask where they can get them. Most comfortable shoe in the world!
Personal opinion with... great versitility!!

What the heck are "crocs"?
