Last October we took a cart across the hand ferry and went as far north as we felt was safely possible without getting the cart stuck. Wilma had been going through at the time, so lots of extra water on the path. Exciting adventure, but we got smart and stopped at a really deep spot on the path.

Is it possible to take a cart all the way north to the Rendevous Restaurant at this time of year? We'll be there in two weeks. YAY!!! laugh

It has been dry. The road is not too bad until you get to just north of Belizean Shores. That part is only 1/4 mile from Rendevous Restaurant.

Thanks for the input everyone. We've been keeping up on the passing of the hand ferry - we're glad we could experience it last time we were down.

We'll give the road a shot... and if we can't make it all the way - oh well! It'll still be fun, and then we'll go by boat and get to enjoy that also.

Counting down!

What's a chug hole, lacy? Is that like chuggin' a whole bottle of something . . .

I was there last week and took a scooter 10 miles past the bridge to the Belizian Legacy. That is where the road ends, and so do the power lines. I think you could make it to the Rendevous by cart, the roads were decent. If you want to be sure to get there, take a scooter, plus its cheaper.
