Visiting middle of July. Realize it is during rainy season. Planning on renting home on north side of AC. No air c. Will I regret no air c. or is there enough of a breeze? Does rainy season then mean a little rain each day? If we are flying into Int'l airport how much to take a taxi to muncipal airport to catch the plane to AC. I read it is 1/2 the amount. would appreciate info. I searched other questions and did not find these. Can't wait to get there. Thanks

You read my mind with the international vs. municipal airport question!

Also how long is the drive from one airport to the other? Is it feasible to do this on the return trip as well, or would it be better just to fly from San Pedro to the international airport in the interest of time?

You need 1/2 hour to get from International to Municipal. If there's 3 or more of you it's worth it, if 2 or less the savings don't justify the bother.

If you ordinarily like air con you'll probably miss it. If you don't normally use air con you won't have any worries as long as the house has good working fans.

A week during raining season can mean a week of no rain, a little rain or a lot of rain! There's no telling.

Thanks Chris there are 5 of us, so I guess it will be worth the extra cab trip. I was not sure how they charged for cabs per person or cab, I guess you are saying per cab. We are traveling to Unitedville for a work camp after our trip so I guess no air c. will be a good way to adapt.

I read the cab fare is $17.00 for the car load. Much cheaper to take the 20 min. taxi to municipal.

Kindest regards,

US$25 is closer for a taxi these days with room for four - six people depending on vehicle and luggage. Muni - SP return is US$58. Intl. - SP return is US$105.

There are distinct advantages of flying out of Muni
1) Your luggage is more likely to be on the same plane as you are
2) The taxi ride into town is entertaining and educational
3) It is worth the look on the faces of your fellow travelers if you happened to be on a plane with a light load going out of muni and stop at international to pick up the crowd there.

More questions:

1.) Do we buy our tickets at Muni once we get there?

2.) Will we be able to get a flight out pretty quickly at Muni?

3.) Is our luggage likely to arrive after us if we fly out of international?

4.) If we fly from San Pedro to the municipal airport then take a taxi to the international airport, how long will this take? (i.e. how long before our flight back to the US do we need to leave?)

I purchased my tickets on line from Mayan Air. You can purchase them at the airport. It is a 20 min. ride between each airport by car. Flights leave every hour.Your luggage should be with you. Not sure about your luggage question?? From SP to airport then to drive to Internation port, plan on a good hour and then allow at least an hour to an hour 1/2 before your flights leaves international port. Just to be on the safe side! I will be flying out of SP 3 hours before my flight leaves from international. I go to municipal 1st, then the taxi. There is supposely a good bar in the int. port for your wait. Hope this helps.

Kindest regards,
akaysus

The good bar is Jets at BZE. Try the rum punch, it is great.
