Heard that changes were made/proposed to the GST Bill on Friday with GST and Stamp Duty on real estate purchases becomming a combined 10%. Anyone know the details or changes to this and other areas of Duty/GST or is it plain old wishful thinking.

There's a meeting tomorrow. It is said that the tax committee are going to recommend to the government that stamp duty be lowered to 5% and that GST of 10% only be applied to new developments. If this happens it'll be tremendous news.

The seminar was a great success. Over 130 people attended. Our heartfelt thanks goes to Jan Brown, from the Pier Lounge, who worked tirelessly to organize the seminar, get volunteers to help, and produce a professional folder for the guests.

Michael Fox did a remarkably good job explaining the new law in layman's terms. Thank you, Mike. We received many compliments on the quality of the seminar and presentation. We appreciate the efforts of the Belize Yacht Club that provided a first class facility. Casa Pan Dulce Bakery provided the excellent cookies.

Our heartfelt thanks goes to Jan Brown, from the Pier Lounge, who worked tirelessly to organize the seminar, get volunteers to help, and produce a professional folder for the guests.

We also appreciate Marie Carroll of Gecko Graphics whom provided the notepads and Karen Sue Brown whom provided the easel. Additional thanks goes to volunteers Sandy Bergquist (new member), Kayleen, Bonnie Vidrine, Charmaine Tolentino, Dulce Wolfe, and Stacy Lang.
