I am a newbie and seeking to deteremine what our physical comfort level will be re: heat and humidity in Ambergris Caye; we are used to the BVIs for winter travel and love it there but I am also interested in seeing more of the world.

We are laid back and low maintanance so Ambergris seems to meet our needs but the humidity and dew point levels seem really high compared to the BVI, so we are wondering if AC has the same sort of tradewinds which generally keep one from minding the tempts in the 80-90 range. We were considering October but that seems rainy so have settled on approx November 1-15. Any thoughts you can share, please?

Don't worry. The rain may come or the wind may blow. You're going to love it. We're looking at returning during the same period.

Unless you are reading San Pedro specific weather you can not go by what you read. Yes, we usually have a nice breeze along the coast except in August and September. Even though October is still considered the rainy season it is one of my favorite months of the year; especially for diving. November 1 starts the high season and all the prices go up.

I appreciate the referrals but all seem to give either current weather, or the the history of this time of year. I have only been able to find historical data for November at weatherunderground.com and that was limited to Beleize City.

Anyone have a referral for some November data at San Pedro?

Thanks in advance.

JudyPG: I was there from Dallas Texas (where we know quite a bit about heat and humidity) Thanksgiving week 2005 and weather wise it was wonderful - very little sweat. We were thankful for the A/C at night because we were on the ground floor. My second trip was early May 2006 and was on the third floor without A/C. I was drenched in sweat the whole time I was there and had to wear a sweat band to keep it from pouring down my face. But I didn't care, too much, I just jumped in a pool or the ocean. My next trip is planned for February 2007 and I'm hoping for the best weather yet! I think if you stay away in July and August you should be okay from what my family living there tells me. Have a great trip and I dare you not to fall in love with the place!
