We travel with our own masks & snorkel but the fins are a bit cumbersome. We haven't been to San Pedro for several years and can't remember how good the rental equipment is. Would we be better off taking our own or are the rentals good.

probably taking your own... the ones they rent out aren't that bad... Let's put it this way they are decent! i would rent them again but now i would probably prefer my own!

I managed to take my own in my suitcase this year, but another alternative is a baseball bag. Long enough for fins. I take it as my carry on and put snorkel, mask, swim suit and towel. That way if my check-in gets lost, I can still do what's IMPORTANT laugh

Thanks for the replies. We're going to look into buying smaller, light weight fins to make it a little easier. Mask, snorkel, swim suit, no problem! lol

My fins just fit inside my 29" bag. I put one fin on either side and pack in between them.
