Cocina Caramba, on Second St is one of my favorites. Celi's next to the Holiday Hotel on Front Street. Elvi's, on second street, is a tourist favorite as is Fido's, on Front Street. For a romantic dinner, try Victoria's House or a boat ride to Captain Morgan's. Also Banana Beach Resort's El Divino Restaurant is nice. Local favorites are Mickey's (Wednesday is burrito lunch special), and the Barrier Reef just across the street from Cocina Caramba. For breakfast we love George's Kitchen. George & his wife Maria are proprietors, cook, waiters, & dishwashers. For an interesting fun night, Pier Lounge has the "World Famous Chicken Drop" on Wednesday nights at 4:30.

La Popular Bakery on Buccaneer St. (side street near Southwinds Realtor)
Chinese Take out on Buccaneer St across from bakery
Fried Chicken with fries for $5.00 BZ Also Chinese for about $7.50 (enough for 2)
Mickey's on Middle St.
George's Kitchen across from Woody's (Great Breakfasts) George is the chef, his wife, Maria is the waitress.
Reef Restaurant on Middle St.
Ali baba near the airport
Papi's Diner

Medium to High end:
Front Street Celi's, Fido's, Wet Willie's Bar & Grill

Middle St. Elvi's, Cocina Caramba , El Patio (Black Coral St??)
Coconut Drive, Victoria House, Ramon's

Try a search on "food report" and check out Capt. Jeff's reviews.

Caliente is an excellent lunch and dinner choice, medium price range. Try the Ginger Rum Shrimp. yummy! Also, one of my husband's favorite places, Blue Water Grill is very good. And the best Key Lime Pie we've had in a while. Estel's by the Sea is really good for breakfast.
And, of course, Casa Picasso! Can't be beat.

I've never tried Portofino's key lime pie (Jan?) but Blue Water Grill's is superb. Good texture and tart - not too sweet.

So, you're saying BWG has superb tarts with good texture but they're not very sweet?

My personal picks for the 30 or so best places to eat on the island, with reviews and rating, are in the free download of San Pedro Cool, the Travel Guide to Ambergris Caye. It's 193 pages of facts --and opinion. My opinions are just that, and your mileage may value, but they are based on about 15 years of visiting San Pedro and traveling around the rest of Belize. Downloadable from Marty's Belize News area, www.belizenews.com, or from www.belizefirst.com. Note that the downloads from the two places vary slightly, due to changes I've made in the "beta" version.
