Does anyone know when Carnival is in 2007? I know it's in Feb. and that Ash Wednesday is Feb. 21st. Therefore I think that Carnival will start on Fri/Sat before am I right?
We'll be down Feb 10th thru the 24th.

Each year is different. Last yr was last 4 days of Feb, the year before was first week of Feb.

4 days leading up to Ash Wed.
Google ash wed 2007.

Isn't it held in Catholic countries on Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras in French/Spanish? That's the day before Ash Wednesday. The date varies but it's easily found on the web, or at any church.

Ash Wednesday is Feb. 21st!
Therefore, Carnival will start on Saturday, Feb. 17th. As long as what you've told me is right that is starts 4 days before Ash Wednesday. Was just hoping to be there for Carnival this year. Thanks for your responses!

COCO take some shirts and shorts you don't mind throwing in the trash. Lots of paint and a few eggs in the hair will fill your day!! I just keep wondering why it has to be acrylic now??? My first carnival was all water base paint and easy on the clean up now you need to go get turpintine or kerosene to help with the clean up. It is a unique experience.Make sure you get in one of the parades.

Thanks for the great advice! This will be our 4th trip down, but have never been to Carnival, we're really looking fwd. to this new experience! Do I have to wear anything special to get into a parade?

In Belize the big Carnival is during the September Celebrations and is not related to Easter. That is when there are huge parades with costumes etc. The big competitions for costumes are awesome and are in Belize city.
In San Pedro the Easter Carinval is a much lower-key affair - a few comprarsas, and a couple of days when all the kids throw paint and eggs on everybody and everything in sight.
