Hi Barefoot! Sad news.

Barefoot, and all...
Tom was the love of my life,both in ATL and AC....I just was there 2 months ago and spent a great time with him....he seemed actually better than in a long time. I guess I sort of excpected this, too...he's always been very volatile. But god, I miss him. I first went to Ac wilth him and we were the last one's off the island for Hurrcane Mitch, then came back for New Year. He moved to AC about 2 years later. I will be back in his honor and memory...I wish I could have been there for his cremation, but no one told me until today. I will be crying for days and days. I've got great photos, and may post them if wanted. Also I understand his hyndreds, maybe thousands of books are being donated to the library. He'd like that. Someone please take care of his dog.
And I guess to answer your question Barefoot, he decided to end his life on his terms. But as slways, though messy, with thoughfulness, and grace. I love him forever.-Grace

Sorry for your loss Grace...I never had a chance to meet Tom. Maybe you could tell all of us alittle more about him if it would help you come to grips with your loss. Take care and hope to hear from you...

hi tim, hi grace. want to say i too am sorry for your loss. i didnt know him, or the circumstances, but i too have been in that dark place where life seems just too hard to go on. i hope your friend has found peace, where ever he may be.

Tom was first and foremost a very intelligent, very crazy, scary, wonderful man. He was fortunate to have been able to travel around the world while young, and continues his travels....just not here anymore. He was tall, with long, dark, gorgeous hair, handsome face, a too serious beer drinker, a too serious fighter sometimes...but passionate and direct. He bought a piece of land, a big one, on the north end of AC about 10 years ago, and after selling property in Atlanta a few years back moved to AC. He's good friends with Ramon, and I hope they are having a drink for him...(and for me too guys!) in his honor. He was very private, had very close friends in Atlatna who are just now finding out. We're all still in shock, but I'm going to try to get some kind of memorial going in ATL for him. At leaset that will give me a reason to get out of this hell hole/Ft. Lauderdale and go home for a few days. To all who knew him...think good thoughts....he's laughing at all of us now.
