Help again please?

We borrowed a friends underwater camera for the hubbys dives on our first trip to Belize last year. Problems with the camera left us with a total of five pictures - so we've decided we just want to get our own so that we can get to know it.

Started researching a bit on line and looking at e-bay, and then got swamped with TOO much information about something we know not much about.

The snorkeler amongst us can always use a disposable, but we want a decent first-timers underwater camera for the diver. (Not digital due to the cost!)

Any suggestions from users out there?

Forget Ebay - go check out a reputable camera store first. How much you looking to spend?

No more than $300.00 - definitely top end for first timers... need to learn what we're doing.

I just bought a SeaLife Sportdiver II on the recommendation of a fellow diver. Judging by my friends pictures (I haven't had a chance to use my own yet) it's a sweet camera, totally upgradable to macro lenses and strobe.

check this out -

- it's only $70 USD here! Hella good price!

I have a Reefmaster and am very pleased with it. I'm considering a digital and if I get one it will also be a Reefmaster. The most important thing that I have found is that not everyone can properly develop underwater pictures. Mine get sent to a place in FL to be developed. In MI they ruin them!

The Sealife Sportdiver II is not too shabby and gives you a very reasonably priced start into the U/W world of film-based photography. Good pkg buy here:

Taken many good shots with my 5 yr. old Reefmaster especially after adding the strobe.
