Using BZ currency, in my experience, depends upon who ya ask, when and who's on duty.

One way to be safe.........

$35US still current.

last time i left, the person in front of me didnt have US$, and they made him pay by credit card. Apparently, the americans are supposed to only pay in US. having said that, they let me pay in BZE...

best and safest bet, put the US aside for when you leave. I cant remember the amount, but if someone does, lemme know too! smile

$7.25 BZ and $31.25 (or maybe it's $31.75) US.

Most airlines add it into the cost of the ticket.

Again,I will bring up that I think things have changed and US airlines can NO LONGER ( since August ) include the departure tax in the ticket price. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Dont know about since August, but used to be all airlines with exception of American included departure tax in ticket price. If you don't know, look at fine print at bottom of your e-ticket. You should see three or four items listed like Belize airport tax, Belize blah blah blah tax, all of which add up to around $33 USD. IF that is NOT on your E-ticket as included, then you have to pay on your way out.
Airlines show what is included in the "taxes and fees" part of your ticket price at the very end of e-ticket.

If you look at your e ticket it tells you if you have paid the taxes in advance or not.

It MUST be US currency, this is a new rule. They do make you go change it in the airport if you have BZ. American does not include it, Continental usually does but depending on how you bought the ticket it is not always included.
