has anyone dove the wreck at hol chan park? i read about it in the hol chan park link on the a.c web page. is it a dive worth doing, what dive shops offer this dive, etc?

I'll put in my two cents since no one else has responded. I haven't done it in a couple years but I believe its called Amigos Wreck. Its a bit of a swim from the bouy and is only a small tug boat I believe. The dive masters usually bring a chumsicle and you get to see sharks, large groupers and big eels. Its great for a change of pace from the reef dives. All dive shops go there, you will just need to ask them in advance so they can reserve other people who are interested in going as well. Again, my info is a couple years old so thing may have changed.

I'm with ya on this one JZB, that's the only thing I've seen that comes close to a wreck at Hol Chan.

It's hardly a wreck in the sense that most divers would think, but it's a pleasant low-key dive. Last time I dived it was earlier this year and I saw absolutely no life on it. Strange, as on previous occasions it had been swarming with nurse sharks even though no-one was chumming.

thanks jzb, j dog, and pedro 2 for your replies. the same link also mentioned a "small blue hole" near the marco gonzalas site that was worthy of snorkling, are any of you familiar with it?

I'm not sure about 'small blue hole' but there is something on the southern end, close to shore that we call 'The small blue crack'. Could be what you are refering too. Look like a small underwater cave and is hard to find if you don't know where it is but you can sometimes see it when you fly over. Lots of fish live in it, eagle rays around it and it is the place where I saw my first and only cobia. Its worth a look if you happen to be in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip for it.

I dove it with pedro2 when my wife and I were down and agree that it was pretty lifeless that day. As he said it is not much of a wreck but was a nice dive in about 70 feet of water none the less. Was a nice place to take some pictures which is why we were there.
