Hi again!
My friend was looking at passport info for our upcoming trip to Ambergris Caye in December and found the info below form the US Passport Agency website:

"Please be advised that all visitors to Belize MUST be in a possession of a valid Passport, an onward/return ticket and sufficient funds (US $ 60.00 per day) to cover the cost of your length of stay"

Does anyone know what this $60/day nonsense is? We don't understand what this means. Can someone help?

Thanks!

u just need enuff money... i think some needs to be cash or TC's and the rest can be debit cards or credit cards...

they don't really check so i don't know why that's there... might be for more longer term...

i didn't have a problem when i went in May this year and they never asked anything in regards to it either...

Haven't heard of a single person being asked about how much money they are carrying when they come into belize (the US, yes). Don't worry about it, they just want to be sure you are not coming to sleep on a park bench and beg for handouts.

I have never been asked how much money i have with me by the Immigration officials @ Belize airport, Except on the form you fill out that asks if you are bringing in more than $10,000bz( I think that was the amount)

Probably depends on how you look? Most of us dress like the tourists we are, with luggage, a camera or three, that "look out Jet, here we come look" etc. We haven't been asked either.

When visiting the US with a few Belizean friends, they had to show sufficient funds for their stateside vacation.
