Hi All:

What kind of fruits available during the year? And what about vegies that are grown in Belize. I love Mangos!

Well, let's've got your mangos (several varieties), papayas, bananas, plantains, star fruit, oranges, lime, pineapple, watermelon, bread fruit, soursap, and a few tropical fruits that I'm not familiar with yet.
Vegetables are very similar as those in the states. Potatoes, onions, bell pepper, squash, tomatoes, cucumber, zucchini, lettuce, corn....and of course the habanero pepper....our specialty. [Linked Image]
Hope this helps!

Love those Mangos and HABANEROS!!! Hotter the better! For the better half! Can't eat them like Candy as he does but I like them in Salsa, etc. Curious what does a Soursap and what does it taste like? --never heard of those.
What No Passion Fruit?

We were introduced to a new taste treat on our last trip. The fruit market had peeled, pitted and sliced unripe mango and put it in plastic bags, you then would sprinkle coarse salt mixed with hot peppers on it. Tasted like mango pickles. Another caribbean treat is the sour plum. Its a green plum, that when ripe is yellow (but its best when green) you dip it in the hot pepper salt too. Spicy, sour, salty!
