Just wanted to thank Annie and Chocolate for the excellant time we had with them.

If anyone is thinking of going to Belize, we loved Caye Caulker and loved staying @ Chocolate's. For that matter, we also loved going with Chocolate to see the Manatees. If you plan on seeing the Manatees, definitely go w/ Chocolate. You won't have as in depth an experience otherwise. His love of them is so beautiful to see.

I had the opportunity to spend part of an afternoon with Chocolate on his hotel balcony. Anyone who loves Belize should go out of his way to listen to this man talk about the old days and the efforts to protect the barrier reef.

Chocolate is a native of Belize who has spent his lifetime in the country. As he would tell you, he originally started out by taking fishermen out as a guide. Overtime though, he came to fall in love with the Manatee. He has spearheaded attempts to save the Manatee worldwide. He has made presentations in Belize to save them and has even traveled to Florida to do the same.

He has been on many wildlife shows including Jacques Cousteau's show (sorry, don't remember the name of it) and Wild Things (twice) (you can get info on those shows by visiting the Wild Things website) as well as numerous others that have been telecast in other nations.

I almost feel like i am writing a biography here!

Anyways, if you can, stay with Chocolate and Annie Seashore. It is by far the best accomidations on Caye Caulker and the pair of them are SUPER nice. Chocolate's tour to visit the Manatees is absolutely amazing. You will learn alot about Belize's history, the importance of the mangroves, see the Manatees (maybe some Dolphins as well), and do a couple of great snorkeling trips.

if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Chocolate is on Caye Cauker. He is known far and wide. His hotel is nice and I understand ya can book his penthouse, the Rubicon of Caye Cauker. It is easy to take a day trip from San Pedro, and return at around 4 PM, by water taxi. Hotel rooms are for the most part much more reasonable than on AC. Good luck.
