I am planning an extended stay in Belize starting in April 2001 and would like to know what areas or cities the expats are living. The 40 and under crowd.

Fine bars and restaurants are a must. Phone, A/C, Cable etc. No jungle for me. I would like to only stay in the upscale neighborhoods. Can anyone make some suggestions?

Are there any expats out there who can give me a few tips?

Thanks and happy new year!

Sounds like Ambergris Caye is what you're looking for.

There is only one city in Belize -- Belize City -- and not everyone finds it all that accommodating.

I personally like the cheaper, less touristy places, such as Corozal Town, but restaurants and upscale neighborhoods there are limited, to say the least.
