Okay here's the deal...I am trying to finish up plans for our honeymoon in Belize (Yeah!) but things keep switching on us (Unorganized travel agent). We have never been before and this is what the agent is suggesting...5 nights at Sunbreeze and 5 nights at Roberts grove. Since we are completely clueless can anyone tell me anything about these resorts (thumbs up or down)?? We plan to dive and go fishing on the side-nothing set up from the resorts...just to go on our own. I have been reading your messages and you all know so much about Belize...any advice/opinions/suggestions would be sooooo helpful. Thank you so much!!!

We have stayed at the Sunbreeze many times and it is very nice. It is basically downtown and you can walk anywhere you need to go. When we got married in San Pedro in 1997 we had 22 coupls go with us and we all stayed at the Sunbreeze. The only trouble we had was with the Bride (me) who was just too loud! I haven't heard of the other place so I can't give you an opinion on that. However, we are going down the end of the month and I can check it out if you like. Congratulations!

We just love the island and truthfully haven't had a bad meal. Go visit the Victoria House. We have stayed there many times and it is just beautiful. They have a wonderful bar and make great Bloody Marys among other things. The Cannibal Cafe is great and right on the water. I heard they have new owners and they are keeping up the tradition of serving good food. It's a small menu but everything's good. Holiday Hotel has wonderful cerviche (spicy). They have a barbeque during the week that is fun to attend, with a band. Our neighbors got married on the beach there a couple years ago. The Deli is right there and we usually get the chicken tacos and eat on the deck at the Holiday and drink cold Belikins. Our daughter says they make the very best BLT's in the world! Jade Garden is a Chinese restaurant and absolutely wonderful with the best egg rolls. (Now I'm getting hungry!) Elvi's is a great place, but we haven't been down there since the hurricane and I don't know what the status is. We get the local paper and we haven't seen it advertised. We normally eat there several times while we're down. There's another great place by the airport but I heard it changed names and can't remember. I'll let you know for sure when we get back. You also will want to go to Coral Beach Dive Shop. If Tulu (Too-Lou) is available he is wonderful and so much fun. Get him to take you diving or snorkeling and ask him to take you bar-hoping on the way back. He took us out for the day and some of us were divers and some just snorkeled. He accommodated everyone. We went to Mexico Rocks for the snorkelers then on the way back we stopped at all the resorts on the North end of the island and had a drink or snack or both. It was a great day and we had such a wonderful time that it's a tradition now. There's just so much to do and see I believe I could write a book. It is very relaxed down there and very friendly. We basically take our shoes off when we land on the island and don't put them back on until we leave.

Roberts Grove is an upscale resort on the Placencia Peninsula... Have a look at www.robertsgrove.com I visited it last year, and it looks really nice : swimming pool, tennis court, jacuzzis, PADI diveshop, etc... Sounds very nice...
