belize city, january 23, 2001--- The Belize Tourism Board and members of
the tourism industry will make a strong presence at the popular, annual
dive tradeshow, DEMA. Held in New Orleans from January 24 27, 2001, DEMA
attracts thousands of industry professionals and consumers interested in
dive equipment and exotic dive destinations worldwide.

This year, the Belize section at DEMA features a total of nine booths.
Belizean representatives attending DEMA include the Belize Tourism Board,
Sunbreeze Hotel, Aqua Dives Belize, Mayan Princess, Nautical Inn, Amigos
Del Mar, Rum Point Inn, The Inn at Robert's Grove, Hamanasi, Ramon's
Village, Manta Resort, Tropic Air, Sea & Explore, Belize Dive Connections,
Radisson Fort George and Grupo TACA.

"Belizean dive operators have always recognized the importance of being
present at DEMA", comments Tracy Taegar, Director of Tourism. "We are
confident that this year's presence will make an even stronger impact on
potential tourist arrivals for 2001 and beyond, because we are all working
even closer together to ensure that Belize maintains its position as one
of
the world's finest dive destinations."

A major attraction of the Belize section this year is a large, four-panel,
Belize hanging sign, which overlooks the entire Belize section, and will
assist DEMA visitors to easily locate the Belize booths. Other highlights
of the show include a presentation on "Diving in Belize" given by the
Belize Tourism Board on January 25, 2001 to all interested DEMA attendees,
as well a raffle for a complimentary Belize Vacation Package.

The Belize Tourism Board has also scheduled a presentation to
approximately
60 travel agents who are members of the CTO New Orleans chapter. This
presentation is scheduled for January 23, 2001. Belizean private sector
delegates attending the DEMA tradeshow have been invited to attend and
participate in table-top displays during the presentation.
