We're coming to Belize for the first time by bus from Cancun. I have crossed many borders that have spelled the end to my foodstuffs. Does anyone know what border police will or won't take from us? Most importantly, are meats allowed? Are there packaged/non-packaged distinctions? Thanks for any help!

hmmm... someone just resurected an old post on this subject... check around, or do a search. Basically, it said that you may not bring meat into Belize unless you have a permit, and it told how to get a permit (costs $$). Without the permit, it appears that they will take the meat. Oh... and it also has to have the USDA stamp.

Hope this helps some.

Kathy
