A couple of great choices are Colton House, which is a bed and breakfast (but without the breakfast) in a safe area across from the Radisson, around US$50 to $75 double, and around the corner from there Four Fort Street Guesthouse, about the same price, with breakfast included. If you don't want to stay in the city centre, Villa Boscardi in the north "suburbs" is wonderful, with bed and breakfast for US$65 double, and a free shuttle to the airport.

Try the Seaside Guesthouse. Its a couple of blocks from the swingbridge and marine terminal. And you can get a simple room with a bed and a fan with a shared bath for under $20 u.s.
