Most people would agree that duPlooy's is superior in almost every way to Maya Mountain -- in location, grounds, variety of rooms, luxury rooms, food, river setting, walking around space, etc. They are about equal in tours - in quality, variety and cost. Where duPlooy's may not suit you, as I've tried to explain before, is that it is about a 35 or 40 minute trip by car to town, (US$20+ by taxi one way) whereas Maya Mountain is about 5 minutes. NEITHER place is near caves and neither place is actually in a jungle area. For broadleaf jungle you need to look at other areas. Again, a good guidebook will make these things quite clear to you.
As I've tried apparently without success to explain, Eva's does not do tours. It is just a restaurant where tourists come to scope things out and score a tour. David Simson (David's Tours) does some great tours, but he does not have a full-service tour operation in the same way as Maya Mountain, duPlooy's, Chaa Creek, Windy Hill, etc. do.
