OK, chatboaders I'm posting this for you too, since you probably never check the Message Board. Hah! Just picked this up from some friends getting ready to leave next week:

Those of you who are holding future flight tickets with Continental might want to re-confirm your itinerary right now! Even you "old-timers" may not care much for the new departure time from BZE. Ah, that would now be 5:00 p.m.
Great, two extra hours in San Pedro! Not so fast buckaroo. The BZE to Houston flight now lands in Houston at 7:30 p.m.. If you are traveling on from Houston more than 450-500 miles you are probably screwed and will have to spend a unexpected, additional night on vacation. In Houston! Nothing against Texans, but the vicinity of the Houston airport is NOT where where I want to vacation!

I've checked all our previous flights, and we've always arrived in Houston around 7:30. They don't change time like we do, so we still get to Houston to make our regular flight home.

I just re-checked with Continental and they have at least three different flight schedules depending on what day of the week you are traveling. Anywhere from noon, to 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. This is something new, and was confirmed as a change by Continenetal. In the past 12 trips we have ALWAYS left BZE at 3 p.m. on Continental, and arrived in Houston at at around 3:15 local time.

Rats.

I too have run into this problem this trip on Continental. We will have a night stay in Houston on Continental's dime. Good thing I built in an extra day before I head back to work!

Hi Again,
I have 3 of my itineraries from Aug. 1999, Nov. 2000 and March 2001 . The one in Aug. 1999 left Beleze at 3:50 and arrived in Houston at 7:20, the one in Nov. 2000 left Beleze 4:45 and arrived in Houston 7:24 and the one in March 2001 left Beleze at 3:45 and arrived in Houston at 7:23. I have my new reservations for next month showing us leaving Beleze at 4:55 and arriving in Houston at 7:28. When the time changes in the U.S. they leave an hour later in Beleze.
We've been on the same flights for six years now and its not changed from what we can see.
Good flights to all
Kathy

Kathy,

Your probably right, but I can't find the last itineraries. Ah shucks, who cares. It just doesn't make sense that we've made these connections for years, but have never left BZE at 5:00 p.m. Oh well, something has changed because a whole of other people are having the same connection problems.

Thats right, who cares what time we leave. Lets just stay on the island and not worry what time the darn plane leaves. LOL. Lets sit back and have another rum drink and party.

Last year I missed my connecting flight from Houston to St Louis, because, get this, they had to stop off at Cancun for fuel. Continental popped for Holiday Inn and the Mosquite Strip Steak. It was almost worth it after being in Belize for 4 months.

I just checked my itinerary (before it was changed) and it is/was the same as my itinerary as last year.. same dates, same flight numbers.
I called Continental to check status and I was informed that the flight # 1957 from BZE to IAH at 3:12 PM has been changed to 4:55 PM, thus arriving at 7:28 PM instead of 5:48 PM. Therefore, missing my connection which was at 6:40.
I tried to get there any other possible way, and only way to do it wa sto buy a Taca ticket.. adn I didn't want to spring for that since I logged in an extra day just incase for the vacation. So I will be camping in Houston 1 night on Continental. Gee Thanks Continental [Linked Image]

I'm still trying to get this time thing figured out. Isn't the flight between BZE and Houston in real air time about 1 1/2 hours? I realize that certain times of the year BZ is an hour behind Houston (during CDT) and the rest of the time they are the same (CST). I'm looking at some of those itineraries posted up above, and still can't see how it would take 3 or 4 hours (time change or not) to get from BZE to IAH. Now, I'll never admit to being a math major, but something isn't addin' up.
