I'm looking for a hotel for the night of July 19. I land at 8pm, and my flight leaves the following noon. Could you suggest a place $45 or less? With the exchange rate and taxes, I end up paying twice the amount. Also, one that provides a shuttle.
Thanks!

Cinca, I'm not familiar with Houston airport area but if you do a search on Yahoo Travel you should come up with a list of hotels near the airport. I think they run around $49 to $79 (US) for rooms. Some have shuttle service, some don't. But most of them are within a few miles from the airport so Taxi won't be that expensive. Good luck!

Cinca, I'm from Houston and I've notice several new hotels on the North Belt (Beltway 8) which is right by IAH, of the Days Inn variety and I'll be they all have shuttle service. Yahoo would probably be a good place to start. Also, there is a cajun restaurant, Jimmy G's on the north side of the Beltway, that serves a good bowl of gumbo if you're in to that kind of thing.

I'll be out of here to Belize Monday 7/02, but in the meantime if you have any more questions you can e-mail me at [email protected].

Have a great trip. Jill

I've finished a pretty extensive cover of the internet sites, and they all have pretty much the same prices. However, are there Hotels, that are decent, that don't advertise over the internet?

I always have to layover in Houston (fellow Canadian!). I stay at Days Inn, pick up at the airport, drop off in the morning, coffee and muffin included. Certainly not the Ritz but it works well! Clean, safe and comfortable. I look forward to ordering from the Chinese restaurant! There are several Days Inn's and I can check for the exact address if you like. I pay $45 US.

Try www.travelscape.com or expedia.com
I work for these companies and we are a whole sale reservations company. We offer some of the cheapest hotel rates out there and a wide selection. You might want to just check it out. Also try choicehotels.com. That's all the Comfort Inns, Comfort Suites, Sleep Inns, Econo Lodges, etc. You can use an internet discount if you book on-line or if you have AAA. It's like a 10% discount but it helps. Good luck!
