I'm planning a trip to Belize in late August and early September (2001) and wanted to know if anyone knows about the weather during this time...

Also, thinking of splitting time (10 days total) between mainland Belize (where???) and Ambergris Caye (where???).

Looking for suggestions. Enjoy cayaking, snorkeling, swimming, hiking, biking, good food/drink, etc.

Any input would be great...

thanks,

andy

The weather is iffy. You are coming to Belize in the rainy season. That doesn't mean that you will get only rain because you will get many sunny days also. Keep in mind that hurricanes are prevalent at this time of year and can hit Belize. Other than that, have a great holiday.

Suggest Chan Chich Lodge on the mainland - http://www.chanchich.com/

Or try the Lamanai Outpost Lodge within walking distance of the Lamanai Maya ruins - http://www.lamanai.com/

On Ambergris Caye suggest you go to the lodging site and pick out what best suits you. - //www.ambergriscaye.com/pages/lodge/lodging.html

Hope this helps,

**Jim
