I can't remember how much the departure fee is when you leave Belize.
Anyone remember - how much it is in US dollars?
Thanks

HAHAHA...won't be any spare Bellikins left at the end of my stay, so I'll have to opt for the 20US....that's like 100 Canadian these days!

If you refuse to pay the exit fee, do you get to stay for free?

And it's gotta be CASH. No traveller's checks or credit cards. There was a youngish guy begging in the airport for money when we were there, trying to rustle up enough money to leave!!! I THINK the money is used for ecological projects, or at least that's what they say. If that is IN FACT where the money goes, I am all for it. As long as it's not going into some "fat cats" pocket, I'm okay with it, in general. Belize is a unique, lovely place, and I hope it stays that way.
