Some friends and I are going to Belize in October. I am looking for information to decide whether to take a package trip or plan it ourselves.
We are interested in diving, snorkeling, beach and maybe a short rain forest excursion.
Any advice / information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

If you compare prices ,You'll find it a lot cheafer to book everything yourself...But it's time consuming and a lot of trouble but aslo a lot of fun .....Different strokes for different folks ,LOL.....Good Luck...No matter which way you decide, you'll still enjoy AC>>>>>>>>>John

Plan it yourself! You'll get all the info you need on this site, and almost all airlines/hotels/tour companies, etc. are online, making it very easy to find what you want. If you do a package, you'll be more locked in, less flexible to do what you want when you want. Take a risk and let us all give you some advice - we'll help you plan the best trip of your life!!!!

WE always planned our own. Just returned from our third visit. But we are very independent and adventurous, and like to meet, negotiate and talk to folks, which is what is involved in doing it yourself. If you don't want to be bothered, then a tour is best. But you can book day tours when you get to the individual towns. For example, in Placencia, Toadal Adventures does snorkeling and Jaguar Reserve trips.

My vote is plan yourself if you have the time to do the leg work. You can get great deals and learn a lot about what your in for once you get there. This board is probably your best tool.

We planned all of our trips ourselves, never had any problems - even with the one that had Mitch hit and we were forced to go elsewhere... everything was refunded less 50.00.
