Although I'm not going to be in Belize in August, I am going in July, also by myself. Any tips/precautions/ideas you can give me for traveling there by myself?

Yes it does, I planned my whole vacation around the Mata Coladas, I am glad it was not the other thing that you introduced me to (haha). No, seriously, traveling single is expensive, they gave me a good deal. Hey, computer crash lost email, send it to me, thanks.

Last year I felt pretty safe a little leary on the first couple of days, but towards the end I was fine. I met alot of people from the island and they were very good to me, but also make sure that you use you common sense. Like at night if I was out, I would take a taxi home from the club, even if it was just a minute away, unless I had someone to walk with.If you start to feel lonely just plan a tour, I never felt uneasy about planning trips by myself, cuz there is always people to talk to or going to resturants sometimes the solitude is nice, plus I am a loner anyway, so things like that did not bother me. You will not be alone for very long though, as the days go on you will see the same people over and over, islanders and tourists. Beware of the smooth talkin ones, that was a big mistake of mine. The number one thing is to relax and enjoy. Let me know how it goes or you could email me if you want to know anything else that you do not want to post.

Jackie- I thought i had lost ya girl! My hotmail account isn't working and I didn't have your address written down anywhere. But now I have it and as soon as I have a chance I'll e-mail you. Just wanted to let you know since you will probably see this before I have a chance to write ya. Love-Melissa
