If You have stayed at the Black Rock Lodge since the tragedy in December I was wondering what your experience there was. My wife and I are looking to stay in June and would like to know if you felt secure there. Thanks

MJM, Thanks for your info, I hope you had a good time there, I would really like to hear more, what tours did you go on? We are thinking of going on the canoe trip to San Ignacio Did you happen to do that?

Ahner, I like to think I have a pretty good sense of humor but I really don't find a whole lot funny with murder and rape, Sorry if you do, ML

We went to unwind from the stress of every day life, we read, went swimming in the river and just relaxed. There were a couple of people that took in the canoe trip to San Ignacio, they enjoyed it, said they found muscles they never knew they had. There are several tours one can take from the lodge and for certain those that did go came back with only good reports. Have fun and enjoy!

We stayed at the Black Rock Lodge over New Year's 1999-2000. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed spending time with John, his wife and their beautiful young daughter Maya. In fact, we have a nice picture of John and Maya. The news of his death a year after our trip greets us with sadness.

My husband and I will also be there in June. We had heard about the incident but decided to give it a try anyway. I'll be reporting back on this board when we get back for all those still interested.
