Arriving on the Carnival pride Cruise ship on Tuesday March 5th.... In port from 7-5PM. What are the options for two rookie snorkelers to have some fun that includes sun, beach and entertaining snorkeling. My wife and I also need to relax and enjoy a drink or two.

I know Carnival will offer shore excursions off the boat but wonder what else might be available. Thanks for any info.

Our best two days snorkeling were at South Water Caye. Just off the beach on the south-east end is awesome. In one morning we saw a spotted eagle ray, sand ray, and southern ray, three green morays, lobsters,crads, sand divers, scrawled cowfish. Just to name a few. Another great spot is just beyond Carrie Bow caye ( which is the next island south from South Water Caye.) Great spot, just have one of the locals take you out. Drinks available from the Blue Marlin or there is a small school on the beach to the right of Blue marlin( a short walk) for the coldest beer in Belize.

I agree. South Wate Cay is one of my favorite places in Belize. That is where I go for my diving and fishing when I am serious about it. But, the logistics of getting there for a one day trip is prohibitive. Check out what the cruise line offers for day trips. I know they have tours to Ambergris Caye. Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley are excellent for snorkling and can be done in one day from Belize City.
