crusty,
there are other icons as well - (_|_) - can you tell what this one is?
belize is in the central time zone but they do not observe daylight savings time. i think richard nixon started daylight savings time to conserve energy in the freeze your butt off cold states up north during the winter months or something like that. any polysci majors or history buffs that can confirm my story out there?

Nixon gets blamed for alot but he is only partly responsible for a little temporary anomaly in daylight saving time. "On 4 January 1974, Nixon signed into law the Daylight Saving Time Energy Act of 1973. Then, beginning on 6 January 1974, implementing the Daylight Saving Time Energy Act, clocks were set ahead for a fifteen-month period through 27 April 1975."
Daylight Saving Time has been used in the United States and in many European countries since World War I. If you really want to know the whole story check out this web site it is quite interesting: http://webexhibits.org/daylightsaving/index.html

Interesting "Factoid" Professor!
Thanks for the link.

Belize doesn't do Daylight Savings Time.
Sun up at 6am'ish and sun down at 6pm'ish.

If nobody is around and all the stores are closed, you know it's noon'ish -1pm'ish.
Siesta time!

As long as you have these particulars, who needs a watch?
