TS FAY IS LOOKING US IN THE EYE PRESENTLY 125 MILES S SE OF GALVESTON ISLAND. IT IS EXPECTED TO MAKE LAND FALL AFTER DARK TONIGHT. THE CLOUD COVER WAS SO THICK, IT WAS ACTUALLY DARK DRIVING TO WORK THIS MORNING. THE EMERGENCY OFFICIALS ARE REQUESTING VOLUNTARY EVACUATION OF BOLIVER PENINSULA AND I AM SURE THEY WILL START GALVESTON NOW THAT IT IS DAYLIGHT. SCHOOLS ARE CLOSED.
TIDES ARE 2 - 4 FT HIGH NOW. WE HAVE ONE MORE HIGH TIDE TODAY. WE ARE EXPECTING UP TO 12 INCHES OF RAIN ON THE COAST. WE ARE ON THE WET SIDE OF THE STORM SO PLEASE EVERYONE KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED THAT WE DON'T LOSE PIER BOARDS. WE PULLED THE BOAT OUT YESTERDAY.
IT LOOKS LIKE THIS WEEKEND WILL BE A WET ONE.

we were spared here in laporte. ts fay made landfall near palacios - south of the galveston/freeport area. those poor folks received 12 - 14 inches of rain in a very short period of time. i think debbie is south of there on the coast and richard chambers may be near there inland.
our tides are still very high. water is splashing over the pier and bulkhead. no lost pier boards for us. the neighbors lost a few. we cannot put the boat back in yet. the only boats this weekend were shrimpers and one thrill seeking sail boarder. we figure by now he is in cuba or other parts unknown. hope he had his passport in his speedo.

You're right on Gay,
We live in a little community called Twin Lakes located between Damon and Needville on the San Bernard river. We experienced a wind shear/tornado that caused considerable
damage in the community. Lost a lot of large Oaks and Elms in a number of peoples properties. No injuries or homes lost tho!
saturday & Sunday, a number of the younger folks in the community went around with chainsaws and trailers and cleared most of the fallen trees and debris from streets and yards. Still a lot of cleanup remains but the worst is over. I have never seen it this bad in our area , lived here over 20 years, but some others around our area had it much worse. We have much to be thankful for today!Richard
Those of you in the Houston area may have seen us on channel 2 Saturday evening.
