Gela, thanks for your response! I have lots of questions before we go. I was wondering about weather the first week in June. Our rented villa is not air conditioned but the owner says that the tradewinds would keep it cool since it is on the water. Could you or somebody tell me about what to expect?

Kathy, I went to AC in June this year - it was hotter than May and December (my other two trips to AC) but the constant breeze always keeps things tolerable. You'll be just fine. The Villa is beautiful. I believe some wedding parties have stayed there recently - hopefully you'll see their responses soon.

KathyA, My wife and I were there in early June (same time as Gela) Yes, it's hot and yes, it's humid but it is the tropics you know. The breezes do help to cool you but I found that the Belekins worked better.

Kathy - You're welcome. All of us have answers to just about anything you wanna know!

Speaking of answers - here's a posting I found regarding Tortuga - I hope you can access it.

You will absolutely LOOOOVE Casa Tortuga. I stayed there last October. Peggy (the owner), is right - you won't need central air - just open the doors and let the breeze hit you. Maria is the greatest cook in the world and will have margaritas and hor deurves (sp) ready when you get there. You can either let her do her thing or make suggestions as to what you want to eat (I rarely missed a meal). Carlos will come to the villa and arrange anything you want as far as tours go. He will pick you up at the dock to the right of the villa. Casa Tortuga has bikes you can use - we used these plus taxis (they are only $5) and are available all night in town. You will be about 10 min. from town, which I loved - you can have fun in town and relax in the quietness of your villa. Kathy, girl, you are gonna love it. The pics on the website are true to form, however, i would draw straws for the 5 bedrooms as the two rooms upstairs are quite larger than the three downstairs. Let me know if you have any other questions regarding the villa.
