I'm wondering, since I'm very allergic to a lot of pharmaceutically produced products, that when I'm in Belize that there's a natural product that can be used. I took a product called Cactus Juice to Costa Rica. Any suggestions - oh, I also took garlic pills and Brewer's Yeast as a repellant.

I hope this isn't too weird

I take odorless garlic(1250) all year round and two weeks before I go, I double up the dosage(2500) and while I am there also. I may have gotten one or two bites, while everyone else was getting bit. It made me a believer in garlic. Also the bites that I did have, did not itch, but only for a minute and were gone in about a day. Maybe it was just me, but... I wont go without to try and find out.

Some believe that a multi-B vitamin is a bit of a repellent. I don't know if it works or not, all I do know is that I take a multi-B and use a little 95% DEET around my ankles and I rarely have any bites.

Our 23 y/o son has been bitten to a turn in SP three times straight. One time so bad that we were arranging for him to return to the states mid-vacation. This time we had him take double doses of the B vitamin complex for two weeks prior to going. He just (December) spent the best part of a week in SP and only had two bites. In fact the pharmacies in SP have B in syringe injectable form that is used by some of the locals whom have reactions to insect bites.

Sorry I took too long to reply but thank you because I'm going to do exactly that since my first week in Belize is at San Ignacio and I don't want to be miserable when I arrive at AC.
