National Geographic Adventure magazine has a long article on the capsizing of the Wave Dancer. Wow. A compelling piece of human drama and hubris reminiscent of "Into Thin Air". Law suits still pending.

Thanks Frank, is that the latest issue, any idea?

i was recently contacted by nat'l geo about a story they are doing on the Fantome, which went down during Mitch...

there is an outstanding book about the Fantome and hurricane mitch, and the book really covers caribbean hurricanes well too. Wendy Auxillou's pa Ray had some input into that book, and a nice thank you. i was lucky enough to have a few conversations with the author.

What's the title of the book about the Fantome? Sounds interesting. Thanks, by the way, for all of your work to keep us informed.

Yes, Marty, that is the latest issue--must be September. I salivate over that mag and all the places I'll never go but can dream about. I think it is an Australian Outback cover. Has RL Pelton article on Iraq, and also Fay's Mega transect of Africa/Gabon.

Such a sad piece on Peter Hughes & Wave Dancer. If, the biggest word in the world.

My husband has the book about the Fantome, and he said it was awesome! I haven't read it yet. He highly recommends it.
