I thought the movie was way better than the book. The book got WAY to much into the names of each rope or sheet, all the names of the sails and how they were positioned, the names of all the parts of a ship, the names for the masts, etc. etc. etc. etc.......ad nauseum and you had no idea what they were talking about. At least the movie got right to the meat of the story without all the "filler". Although the movie didn't do justice to the frienship between Aubrey and the good doctor. (My friend insists they're gay....) I didn't get that from the movie...... I REALLY enjoyed the scenes of the Gallapogas Islands though!!! Awesome....
