Good wishes to you, hope all is going well. I'll think of you, trust me on this one.

Nothing like long term discomfort and having to deal with it too frown

Better days are ahead smile

No Debbie, it was this past February and I am still in the recovery stages. Five fractures in the foot and my knee had a torn ligiment and cartilidge. Full leg cast for too long !!

Watch out for tow motors !! ( fork lifts ) It backed over me and then drove over me to go forward. Doesn't that just make your day? Hell NO.....

I only walked through the warehouse to get to the other side of the building and BOOM ! ( it wasn't moving as I went into the area ) I went through that area, every day, several times a day, so I was familiar with all of the action in there, it doesn't take long to be down on the ground !

Recovery is long term and I am getting to a good spot in recovery now.

Thanks for caring smile

I'm sure a few choice words were directed in the direction of the forklift driver. My foot hurts just to think of it.

Reminds me of a guy at a place I used to work who was "forklift certified" and took out about a twenty foot section of wall trying to drive the thing.

NYGAL,
Gosh..... where have I been??? I'm so sorry that you're having to go through that.... I had my foot smashed in junior high. A cast iron volleyball stand filled with cement came apart and fell off of a ramp onto my foot. It was crushed. The first doc that saw me said the foot had to come off!!! My parents were in Acupulco at the time and left no instructions for medical care with the sitter. Thank GOD!! I would have had my foot removed. My dad told them not to touch me until he got home. He sent my x-rays out to some top notch surgeons, and one said he could save it. He flew him from Houston to do the surgery. I was expected to walk with a limp for the rest of my life, but this guy was so amazing, I don't limp at all. But I was in a cast for over six months. A wooden shoe with a tin can on the front for another few months and orthopedic shoes for a year. It was a slow go as well, and it seemed to take forever. Many of the bones in my foot are now fused and I don't have a joint in my big toe. They were shattered into splinters. I still have several pins in there.... So I can truly relate to the misery you have been going through. I'm so glad to hear that you're on the mend. Hang in there. Debbie

Robert E., I used thoughts...not words smile I know the guy that did it, he was the first one I called as I got home from the hospital to assure him I wasn't placing blame. He is such a great person, as am I laugh

Debbie, My foot loss was my fear too, it's been a terrible struggle and I would never wish it on my worst enemy. ( I don't think I have any )

Thank goodness for kind considerate people, this board and a warm hearted other half smile You're all my heros wink

Moose was also one of my caring folks that kept my spirits up there. He never failed to ask me if I was and still does ask if I am OK. There are 'hearts' all over the world, even moose have hearts laugh

This happened 2 weeks after we got home from Belize and I was concerned about playing Dodge Cart in San Pedro smile

Thanks NYgal,

unfortunately my recovery will take in total about half a year (if there are no more complications)...
Have something on my "spinal cord", and have to take some drugs that makes me sleeping almost all day long. Just have to wait till I can go to the hospital, get the surgery, stay a few weeks here, and then get a.s.a.p. back to Belize, because believe me I miss it like crazy... Even not talking about my family!
Anyway, it can get only better than it is now, so just need to have some patience. smile

P.S. I hope everything goes well with you too!!!
