Just wanted to get feedback as to which tours are really worthwhile and which ones members feel aren't worth the time and money charged for what you see and experience. I know it is all subjective, but you know what I mean.

when will you be there? Cave tubbing TOTALLY worth it, ruin trip recommended if interested Lamani vs Altun Ha. ALL snorkel(diving if you dive) tours and if not a resort 1/2 day dive course. Supposively the manatee tour which I have not done yet.

From San Ignacio (assuming that's what you mean by S.I.) some of the best tours and trips are:

* Aktun Tunichil Muknal cave
* Tikal
* Caracol
* Barton Creek cave
* Xunantunich

Also, the Green Hills butterfly farm and the Chaa Creek natural history centre are well worth seeing. And of course en route the Belize Zoo. Also a trip into more remote parts of the Pine Ridge (Baldy Beacon and beyond) is fascinating. Some of the Caracol trips also make stops along the way at waterfalls and caves.

Thank you, Lan. As Member #6, you should know! We will definitely be going to Tikal. I want to stay overnight if possible as climbing the pyramid before dawn and watching the birds wake up and fly around the pyramid is an experience I will never forget.

Thanks, Ke, for your input too. We will be there Dec. 26 - 29.

Cooper, I was there (Tikal) 1 1/2 ago & our guide said they were about to close off the tops of many of the "pyramids" as people were defacing them and urinating inside as well. Ran into a guy two days ago freshly back and he said that was the case. Maybe somebody who lives there can comment. Just wanted you to know....

That's a darn shame..... My two teen boys thought that climbling the pyramids and looking out as the maya had once done, was a very moving experience. Their pictures from the top were incredible!!! You could see a rain storm moving in from the distance. It was so beautiful.
