My first trip to Belize was March of this year. My second trip was in May and my third trip will be in September.
I have been to Cancun, Cozumel, St. Thomas, Aruba, Grenada, and Puerto Rico. I enjoyed those places but never felt as comfortable and met so many people bending over backwards to ensure I had a good time, like I did on Ambergris Caye and Caye Caulker.
The place isn't built up like Cancun. You won't find a Carlos and Charlies or a Hard Rock Cafe. What you will find are many, many restaurants who serve up awesome meals at very reasonable prices.
The weather, the snorkeling, the diving, the fishing, the food, the drink, and the people are awesome. I love the dress code; bathing suits, flip flops or barefeet, shorts and a t-shirt. I'm sure there are some uppity folks but I didn't find them.
I choose Belize over and over again this year and will continue from years on end.
If you're looking for a nice place to stay, try Exotic Caye Beach Resort / Playador. You can find more information about them at
www.belizeisfun.com or send a direct email to
[email protected], aka Tuki Tuki or Kat. She leases out her condo as well at that resort.
