If you were planning your next trip to Belize, say next May, and you intended on spending a week on AC and then another 4 nights or so on the mainland coast (example: Hamanasi) - which would you do first? laugh

We did land first this June and then AC...the order was right for us but next time we'll split the days on each differently. We had 3 nights jungle and 10 AC...next time we'll do 4-5 jungle, and 8 on AC. We are beach freaks so wanted to get mainland over and enjoy the water, but we loved Chaa Creek, the jungle, Tikal, and wish we'd had more time to do some more exploring on the mainland. Enjoy!

Gela - just spent my 40th b-day in Belize. I'd vote for finishing in San Pedro. I'm kind of biased though. You ought to check out some of the Cayes near Dangriga. They are just as awesome as the rest of the country. There are some new places down that way. Also so many choices on the mainland too. What a problem to be plagues with !!

RobertE - Happy Belated Birthday! I remember my 40th - wish I could have spent it on AC. Since my Birthday is in mid-September, I didn't want to risk hurricane season so I wimped out this year (but I did get there laugh ).

I appreciate everyone's input. On my first trip to Belize in 2001, I spent my last 2 nights at Maruba Spa. Last year I did AC then mainland (Cayo district then Banana Bank). I wanted to visit southern Belize coast this time around, so maybe 3 or so days then AC sounds just about right!

I know, I have it tough - I've got enough frequent flyer miles on AA now so I want to lock in those hard to get seats for next May!

Perhaps I can convince some of the boarders I've met there in the past to meet me there next year laugh wink cool

This boarder is game and up for the challenge, Gela! It will be hard to top the recent vacation, but we can give it the ole college try! Hopefully, Roger will still be around for some wild dancing. You did real good, girl!

I agree with the land first and then AC.
Jaguar Paw is a great place to visit and should be considered.
