Does anyone know how I can get a hold of Tradewinds in Placencia? I've emailed them, but no answer. I have a phone number listed as 501 6 23122 but how would I call that from the US. My phone doesn't seem to like that, even with 011 first.

Thank you very much for the number.

Unfortunately, they only have the 27th and 29th available. I guess I'll have to find something else. Too bad. They looked great, especially for the money.

Is there anything similar that I could check into? For Placencia, I'm looking for a cabana within walking distance to town, private bath (inside), and on a private beach. Fridge and kitchen would be a plus.

I need something for 27-29Jul. $130/night or less, preferably quite a bit less.

Hi Mike,
The dates you are looking for is during Placencia Lobsterfest so many of the in town hotels may be booked. (I'll be there). You may need to go to the Placencia website and go down the list. http://www.placencia.com/service.html#acc
PS haven't stayed at Tradewinds in about three years but my group enjoyed it.

Singing Sands Inn On Maya Beach is not within walking distance, but it is fantastic. 7 miles North of Placencia.

Thanks for the link Gail. It's a good reference.

Maya Beach is an option if we can't find something closer, but I'd rather be closer to town for these few days if possible. After that, we will be going to CC and AC for a few days to get away from things, and may stop into South Caye or similar also. Until then, we'd rather be kind of close, as long as it's quiet.

We're checking into Mariposa now to see if they have anything available. Kitty's is nice but the only thing they had available that looked like it might work doesn't have an indoor bathroom, and my gf isn't too keen on that idea for a cabana.

We stayed at a place called South Waters Resort, just a little ways west of the fishing pier. Nice pink cabanas with private bath and fridges. It was about $60US. Some of it may still be taken over by the Moorings people, but worth a try, as their offices may have finished being built. You should be able to find it on one of the Placencia websites.

Enjoy lobsterfest, Mary
