Me,my 4 & 8 year old sons and husband who is working in Iraq, and whom i haven't seen in several months will be in AC for the first time on Oct.28th for a week.We will be staying at The Palms. My husband is thrilled, he has wanted to visit Belize for years. Since we will be there Oct.28- Nov.5, my kids were wondering,in the U.S Oct.31st is halloween and the kids all dress up in costumes and do different fun things. Is this holiday recognized in Belize? And If so how is it celebrated? Also, if there are any other particular suggestions on places to go or things to do as far as just relaxing and enjoying life please feel free to help out. Thanks

Very limited knowledge have I but a saw a shop or two with holloween decorations. On the Christian radio station (heard in many stores and in the streets) it was being condemned as a pagan holiday. It would probably be best to get creative.

We have been there six or seven times on Halloween, and will be again this year, however we've never seen any evidence of the type of activity that you would see in the States. You've made a nice choice as far as accomdations, and should just relax and enjoy it. Go south a couple steps and let the boys play in the water in front of Ramons, they'll love it.

The kids usually go trick or treating with their school class, during the day, to all the businesses. Your kids could go with you and just follow the classes down the streets! They'll have fun and the goodies are great! Also, for the adults, go to Holiday costume...great prizes and a lot of fun! :p

A couple of years ago I took small Holloween treat bags full of candy and gave them to the kids I met in town. They didn't seem to know much about Holloween. Maybe it's a gringo thing. I did ask their Mom's first. I had fun. Remember chocolate melts unless it's M and M's.

Halloween is GREAT there. Have been there about 6-7 times......go to Holiday Hotel and ask for secifics about the goings on. They're local and can give you more info. Since the 31st is on a Sunday, their party will probably be Sat. night...........but ask them, they will know. Have a great time!!!!! C

:p Hi Kerry, you would love halloween at the holiday hotel!!! The candy you left, we added to and made about 100 bags which we handed out to the little ones. They were so cute! Mostly pre-school and in costume, they came with their teachers and went thru the hallway in line, very well behaved! Only one week till surgery, aaarrrggghhh!
