Thought I'd try and get some much needed information. We are supposed to be coming to San Pedro in the middle of February for a month, and my wife has developed a nasty eye virus, which her specialist here in Canada is saying may keep her from coming. Is there a good opthalmologist in San Pedro by any chance? Or Belize City? Someone here told me he thought there was a full fledged training hospital on AC, but I've seen no references to such in any of the previous messages. I noticed that a new clinic is in the process of being finished on AC, but it doesn't sound like it will be equipped with the eye machines that my wife needs? Help! Anybody with any information, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hoy Eye Center is in San Pedro and is good - inquire about what days the doctor keeps hours.
Dr. Amin Hegar in Belize City is also good - he's open 5 days a week.
There are quite a few good eye docs in Belize - those are just two of them.

Papa you shine! We will be contacting both centres to describe my wifes condition and hopefully they will be able to keep her eye in good health!? We look forward to our first visit to Belize and AC.

Just an update on my wife's eye condition. The medication she is taking seems to be working and the doctor gave us the go ahead. The eye clinic in Belize will take her with one days notice if her eye starts acting up. So we are headed to AC and SP ASAP, or on February 14th to be exact! Thanks again for the info on clinics, as it helped us make our decesion to come. We are so looking forward to our visit. M & B
